What Can You Automate in a Five-Day Software Build?
By LexoraTech
Five working days is a delivery window for an agreed, focused workflow. The useful question is whether one repetitive process can be isolated, built, tested, and handed over within that scope. Access, decisions, and acceptance criteria need to be ready before the build starts.
Choose a workflow with a clear beginning and end
A candidate might take an approved form submission, create a record in another tool, and notify the responsible person. Another might prepare a draft summary from a document for someone to review. These are examples to assess during scoping, not a list of guaranteed inclusions.
Write down the trigger, required input, expected output, and person responsible for exceptions. If the process depends on decisions nobody can explain consistently, clarify those decisions before automating them.
Check the dependencies before starting the clock
Confirm whether the systems offer suitable APIs, whether the necessary accounts and permissions exist, and whether realistic test data is available. An approval delay from a third-party provider can block a small project just as easily as a large one.
- One named owner can answer questions and approve scope.
- Required systems and permitted integration methods are identified.
- Representative test inputs and expected outputs are agreed.
- Recurring software or AI-provider costs are understood.
- The workflow has a manual fallback if the automation is unavailable.
Use AI only where it helps
Moving a validated field from one tool to another usually needs straightforward rules. Interpreting varied text may justify an AI component, but then the scope must include checking outputs and handling uncertainty.
For document extraction or draft responses, define what a person reviews before anything consequential happens. Specify which data can be sent to a provider and check the provider settings and terms. Do not assume every AI service has the same retention or privacy behaviour.
Agree how success will be tested
Acceptance should cover both the normal path and foreseeable failures: missing fields, duplicate submissions, unavailable services, or outputs needing correction. Decide whether a failed item should retry, wait for review, or return to a manual process.
Measure the current workload before the build, then compare actual usage after handover. Time savings depend on volume, exception rates, and adoption; a calculator estimate is not an observed business result.
What the LexoraTech offer covers
Our published five-day offer maps three manual workflows, selects one for the agreed build, and includes source-code ownership, daily written updates, a recorded handover, and 30 days of fixes within scope. The published fixed price is $1,500; confirm the written scope and any third-party costs before committing.
A whole-company system replacement, several untested integrations, or an undefined AI agent is unlikely to be a useful starting scope. For a larger project, agree staged delivery and use the first milestone to establish a working end-to-end process.
